Originally designed as a reflective sphere,
the hexad was redesigned to look more like a planet.
In the early colonial stages, the Hexad didn't have to go up
against native resistence. Redesigning the ship to look more
like a planet allowed it to hide in plain sight until landfall
could be made on worlds containing natives in the right state
of devellopment.
